I am a newly single mother, artist, community member, and a natural born teacher (coming from an ancestral lineage of teachers). Through my personal experience, I’ve discovered how yoga can be a sacred self-healing practice and I encourage everyone to claim this power for themselves. These transformative practices can be accessible and comprehensive for all, and I strive to share it that way. My yogic offering is a dance between mindful movement and deep introspection. The most important aspect of my classes is integration- understanding how yoga relates to life OFF of the mat. Currently, my purpose is supporting whole families on the path and reaching people who are seeking a spiritual home. Students can expect to feel embraced by our Freedom Yoga community.

Erin started her yoga journey looking for a new physical exercise. Instead, she found a deeper connection with herself and a greater awareness of her mind, body, and spirit. Erin aims to show her students that yoga is accessible to any person who is open to the experience. Her classes are structured to promote overall wellness and the confidence to explore the yoga practice.

For him, yoga is a toolbox- it provides ways to deal with all types of stresses and situations both on and off the mat.

It has become a great way to be authentically involved with his family. As many of his family members adopt ways to get and stay healthy, he gets to be a resource and uses yoga as a means for them to achieve their goals.

I have been an enthusiastic yoga student for over 12 years and have transitioned from student to teacher when I completed the 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program. Because of my desire to make yoga accessible to everyone, I enjoy teaching gentle and beginner level classes, emphasizing that everyone can benefit from the gift of yoga.

In my classes, I love to combine Iyengar style sequencing, compassion-centered philosophy, and my playful spirit to help students deepen their practice. My hope is that you leave your mat feeling centered, rejuvenated, and fulfilled."

Yoga has inspired me to continue my inquisition in myself and others, cultivating a deep connection internally and externally. My yoga practice has transferred off the mat, resulting in healing my relationships with family members and myself.

I decided to deepen my practice by becoming a RYT 200 in 2018. Yoga helps me balance out my life and provides a place for me to breathe, move, and let go. My yoga practice helps clear my mind, refocus my energy, and helps me balance out my priorities in order to be a better wife and mom to my 5 kids.

My yoga practice has evolved over the two decades since I first stepped onto the mat.  After many starts, stops and restarts, yoga has played an important part in my own growth and transformation as a person, and a member of our community.  What began as rudimentary exercise, yoga, for me, has become more than simply the set of movements – yoga has become a place of contemplation and purpose, a place to discover wholeness and confidence that has helped me become a better parent and partner.  My aim is to offer you a class that is fun, builds physical and mental agility, inspires confidence, and is a place for contemplation and growth. I am excited to share my experiences and support you on your own journey on the mat and off.

I discovered Yoga here and I fell in love with it. Yoga has changed my life in so many ways. I am more mindful of my body and mind. I have been healing my soul and aligning with my purpose every step on this journey.

I feel blessed to be a part of the yoga community and I deeply believe the yoga journey is a self-transformational path toward healing.

In my daily practices of yoga, meditation and mindfulness, I honor the profound truth and transformation I have experienced along with my journey.

I am offering you the same transformational gift of yoga that has filled my life with joy. I am dedicated to supporting your life's journey. Looking forward to the privilege of connecting with you.

Yoga found me at a very low point in life, where I felt lost, disconnected, and emotionally overwhelmed. My commitment to my yoga practice was a catalyst for my personal growth and healing. It was my path back home to myself. I have a deep admiration for yoga’s ability to aid in transformation and am grateful to have found it when I needed it most. It is an honor to share this practice with others. My aim as a teacher is to offer a safe space for you to become present and tune in; to become stronger - both physically and mentally, and to deepen your connection with yourself - ultimately leading to greater self-awareness and confidence.

Yoga has provided me with a way to transcend the boundaries I've created for my own potential. To surrender to the present moment. To connect me back to my infinite, timeless, and divine Self. The yoga practice not only connects me to my place in the universe, but to all living beings.

My classes incorporate pranayama, chanting, exploratory and anatomy focused asana, and encourage a moving and mindful meditation. With the breath as the anchor, you are able to move through the waves of the mind to get below the surface to the deep ocean of the Self.

In practicing together, I hope to facilitate an experience to help you connect with YOUR divine heart and spirit.

The Freedom Yoga Story

My Wake Up Call

DING DING DING

I wish it was an alarm clock, but it was the sound of my car’s safety system notifying 911.

I fell asleep at the wheel and drove up a curb. My chest already felt sore from the seatbelt and I winced as I unbuckled my seatbelt.

Freedom started bellowing in the backseat. I had to get to him, but i was moving so slow. Weakly pushing my driver side door open, I made my way to the back door. It felt like the longest journey of my life….

I looked him in the eyes and he immediately stopped crying. As I undid his harness, I checked his body for any injuries. Not even a scratch. My heart sank to my knees in deep gratitude for the Universe truly looking out for us.

I took a walk around the car and knew it was unsalvageable. At that moment, I knew I hit rock bottom.

Freedom was 9 months old and I was in the pits of severe postpartum depression and anxiety. Without a doubt, I loved my baby, AND i was beyond tired of and from EVERYTHING. It was time to slowly climb my way out.

It was time to put on my tool belt. Through intentional choices, active self healing, professional therapy, and leaning on community, I became more strong, balanced, and flexible- just like my physical yoga practice.

I began to let go and entertain the visions I had of starting my own yoga business. And so I did it- I started a yoga business from nothing and named it after my son, my guiding light, Freedom.

Originally, I started Freedom Yoga to support new mothers. If there had been more accessible postpartum healing, I believe I would not have fallen so low into my suffering. Through way of evolution, I arrived at the mission to create community on the path. This is because it truly takes a village. The conversation and practices had/has to be broader.

That was the past and right now is the present. Building the Freedom Yoga community is the present I give myself everyday. I love sharing my mothering journey with those I share my yoga practice with. I am so grateful to get a glimpse into others' homes and cultivate a space where we can truly come as we are.

I am living a dream that fills me with much joy. I am building the community that is raising my son. Will you build this community with me, for our families?
